I think I might be starting to get used to things a little bit! When I got here, I noticed something right away… If you leave a crumb or something sticky or even some sand from the beach; you will have visitors that seem to magically appear-ANTS! These little things aren’t like the ones in the mid west(US). These ants are brownish and smaller…and super fast! They love crumbs, anything in my purse, and sand. I think they love everything. One morning I woke up to find that I had cold medicine(cough drop) that was partially opened in my purse…I had 30 little ants trying to attack! The one day I came back from the beach and emptied out my beach bag in the sink…I know, I know, why not outside? I don’t know?? Lazy? Anyway, I didn’t realize that there was still a little sand around the sink. Ants everywhere! They are also trying to invade my classroom…my assistant found ant eggs by the window. I was wondering why we had a parade of las hormigas everyday! Now when I see them, I look for the culprit and take care of it and it’s not a big deal.
I found this online…might have to try it?
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it “home”, can’t digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains , but it works & you don’t have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!
